About

Welcome! My name is Lauren (she/her/siya) and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

Therapy is an act of love. It is bravery. It is revolution. It isn't easy and I would love to accompany you along your journey.

I am a Bay Area born-and-raised, Filipina-American whose parents immigrated from the Philippines in their adolescent years. I'm a daughter of the diaspora and committed to reframing what it means to be a healer. Westernized therapy is often stigmatized, and while it has perpetuated historical trauma on BIPOC communities, I believe that there is an opportunity to reclaim the space so that it truly is holistic, empowering, and inclusive.

I embody this by holistically conceptualizing your story in order to meet your unique needs. Humans are multifaceted, with many intersectionalities of identity. I work towards helping you understand who you are in context of your body, mind, spirit, and history. I also strive to create spaces where clients feel truly seen and heard in order to dismantle shame and address barriers that prevent unhelpful patterns from changing.

My approach to therapy is collaborative, trauma-informed, psychoeducational, and social-justice oriented. I believe there are ways to incorporate creativity, humor, storytelling, and play with traditional talk-therapy, too.

I have experience serving in school-based, inpatient, nonprofit, and crisis settings with folx from across the developmental lifespan. I currently work in a group practice where I'm able to invite fellow Bay Area residents for telehealth services.
