About
The Dede Diner is a community space led by lactation professionals, offering support on all aspects of chest/breastfeeding, where the Filipinx experience is centered and all pregnant and postpartum people are welcome.
Participants and their families benefit from the emotional support from and camaraderie with other participants throughout their chest/breastfeeding journeys, as well as the professional perspectives of an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Certified Lactation Educator (CLE). Topics that are regularly discussed include not only physiological chest/breastfeeding and postpartum issues, but also the cultural and societal impacts on these issues. Referrals to other healthcare professionals are made when necessary, and various forms of external resources are shared when requested.
The current virtual model has been successful in reaching participants both locally and internationally. The Dede Diner aims to expand outreach within the local Filipinx community through special events highlighting our cultural postpartum practices to encourage chest/breastfeeding success.
