Pia Barton

Pia Barton is a Filipina immigrant, advocate and entrepreneur. As CEO and Founder of Malaya Botanicals, a CBD Wellness Company since 2019, she is known in the cannabis and wellness space through Malaya’s advocacy of de-stigmatizing cannabis and empowering women to take charge of their health and healing. Creating a community focused wellness company, Pia has cultivated a network of BIPOC practitioners and businesses championing self-care and self-love.

With previous successful careers in Real Estate, Events and Marketing and working in the cannabis industry since 2015, she is a WOC, educated and experienced in the challenges and power of bringing diversity and inclusivity to projects and businesses.

Her advocacy in bringing cannabis to the mainstream, has her featured as a cannabis speaker at BDNY, the leading hospitality industry conference in New York, to Malaya being the only Cannabis company to participate in both BottleRock Napa and Outsidelands San Francisco in 2021 and 2022. Pia has brought Malaya throughout the Bay Area and beyond.

Pia’s relationship using cannabis for wellness began as an injured triathlete. Through her research and insights, Pia curated and created CBD infused products to empower people to experience Malaya (a Tagalog word for ‘free, independent and liberated ’).

Pia's resilience and passion comes from facing challenges of childhood trauma, as an immigrant and being a WOC in the entrepreneurial world. From this, Pia has discovered the value of wellness and mental health and the need to bring that to the Filipino/a/x community.
